Arts and Humanities
The arts and the humanities provide children with different ways to process cognitive information and express their own creativity and knowledge. Developmental goals include:

- Using a variety of actions or sounds to explore drama
Language Arts/English
Language Arts and English focuses on developing the student’s comprehension and capacity for use of written and oral language. Developmental goals include:
- Communicating with increasing clarity
- Reading materials with interest and enjoyment
- Drawing meanings from pictures
Health Education
Health education assists children in understanding positive health behaviors regarding personal wellness, physical activity, and safety. Developmental goals include:
- Demonstrating independent behavior
- Showing social cooperation
- Identifying healthy food choices
Mathematics
Mathematics introduces children to the study of numbers and the basics of how they are related to each other. Developmental goals include:
- Demonstrating understanding of numbers and counting
- Recognizing and describing shapes
- Using the attributes of objects for comparison
Physical Education
Physical education focuses on developing physical fitness and the ability to perform day-to-day physical activities with ease. Developmental goals include:
- Climbing, jumping, and/or hoping with coordination
- Performing fine motor tasks w/ eye-hand coordination
- Executing movements that require a stable base
Science
Science involves using observations and experiments to gain knowledge about how the universe works. Developmental goals include:
- Exploring the environment through manipulation
- Investigating simple scientific concepts
- Marking and verifying predictions based on past
